How To Play The Game

*Playing the Game*

- The game officially begins at nine am on Wednesday, March 12th.
- On Wednesday morning, there will be an envelope in your pendaflex.  In that envelope will be a spoon.  And on that spoon will be the name of your target.
- Your goal is to "thwack" that target with your spoon.  This means to touch them with your spoon in a non-violent way.
- For the time being, a person cannot be thwacked if they are holding their spoon.
- There are places that are in and out of bounds (like classes in session).  Please read the rules about the specifics on in and out of bounds. (rules coming out next week)
- Upon a valid thwack, the thwacked person surrenders their spoon to their thwacker, giving that person a new target.  The thwackee is out of the game. Your spoon becomes inactive the moment you receive your thwackees spoon.
- You must report your thwack within six hours or it didn't happen -- information on where and how to do this will be provided soon.
- This continues until one person remains.

*Staying in the Game*

- You must come to campus during the game.  Absences longer than 2 consecutive school days will result in disqualification.  You are expected to email me and withdraw if you cannot avoid such an absence.  I realize you might have a good reason, but the game must go on.
- If your photo is not in the law school photo directory, you must email a photo to spoonscommisioners2014@gmail.com before the game begins. If I get an email after the game begins from the person who has your spoon and I look at the photo directory and you're not there, you will be instantly dropped.
- Trickery is encouraged, and probably necessary to be a top player.
- Any behavior that may harm someone will result in immediate disqualification.
- You may not use any kind of physical force to thwack someone except to touch them with your spoon.  Thwack does not mean hit.  If your plastic spoon is damaged in any way from the force used to thwack someone, you may be disqualified.
- You will need to email me if you lose or break your spoon, or thwack someone who does not have their spoon on them.  Do not try to make your own spoon.  Even if you found what you'd need to do so, I will still be able to tell.

*Prizes*

- Except for the bounty placed on last year's champ, no competitor can win more than one prize.
- Prizes will be announced next week
Have Fun!!!
